How Pearl has helped The Dental Lounge with its expansion

The Dental Lounge is a mixed practice in Glynneath, South-West Wales and the owners, Dharminy and Alex Mancuso, bought the practice over 10 years ago. With a healthy mix of NHS patients and private patients, including many on their monthly membership plan, the requirement was for practice management software that could meet all the needs of the practice as it took on more patients and one that would enable the team to embrace change knowing their PMS was supporting them on the journey.

When the new owners inherited Pearl’s Practice Management Software, as all new owners do, they reviewed the systems and processes they had acquired. Initial impressions were positive, and the owners soon realised that “Pearl works”, a huge relief and one less issue to worry about amongst the multitude of challenges facing them.

Top value software is a ‘given’ but the team at The Dental Lounge have found Pearl very responsive to their needs, with positive feedback that includes the fact that the onboarding of new team members is straight forward because the Pearl system is easy to understand and when contacting the Pearl Support Desk, it never feels like a rushed call. Alex mentioned that Pearl always pick up the phone or call back immediately.

If data needs to be extracted – for analysis, patient contact or marketing purposes and they need advice, the team at The Dental Lounge knows Pearl will respond to the call and that, if the issue cannot be resolved in the call, they will do a ‘deep dive’ and help to extract the data.

In terms of regular contact, the practice likes that Pearl keep them informed and particularly like the regular newsletter, “which they make quite personal. It shares updates, hints and tips, all of which helps us improve our efficiency as a practice.”

What really impressed the owners was the level of support they received from the beginning, and that it has continued as part of a long-term partnership in a period of expansion for the practice that now serves thousands of patients from the local community.

The Pearl PMS has been embraced by the practice team and its user-friendly features coupled with exceptional customer support have prevented any potential stress amongst the team.

Patients are seeing the extra benefits too by utilising the Pearl Patient Portal, a simple way of completing medical history information before attending their appointment. This is convenient for patients and saves time in the practice; a “win win”!
