Transitioning from R4 to Pearl

Background

Bilton Dental Clinic is a 3-surgery private practice in Rugby, Warwickshire. The owner, Dr Nazim Bolia, had used Pearl previously at the practice he had been working in before buying the Rugby-based practice.
He inherited the practice which had the R4 system, which he didn’t like as it isn’t intuitive like Pearl and was a hinderance to maximising efficiencies in the practice.
In contrast, he always found the Pearl team easy to talk to and the PMS easy to work with, so Nazim set about transferring his new business over to Pearl. He was initially worried about the transition from R4 to Pearl, but his mind was soon put to rest as “they came in and handled everything. I needn’t have worried as there really were no issues with the transition.”

Outcomes

As an easy system to work with, this made it easier for the team to ‘get’ and there’s the added benefit of new team members being easy to onboard. Pearl’s cloud-based system made a huge difference too. Bicton Dental Clinic is now virtually a paperless practice.

As well as talking to the Pearl Helpdesk, the client finds it of great value to be able to talk to the developers as well if there is a technical issue that needs resolving. The accessibility of an in-house development team is a real advantage for Pearl.

Bilton Dental Clinic opted for the online booking module, to be included on their new website. The practice was keen to provide patients with an alternative way of booking and that it would be especially helpful for patients suffering an emergency who would want to be able to book themselves in, in their time and not when the practice is open. Online booking would also be good for recall and patients needing a hygienist appointment, thereby filling in gaps in the calendar, or an Invisalign consultation.

The practice is also using the Patient Portal, where patients are sent a link a day before their appointment so they can complete their medical history.
