Borrowash Dental Centre is a mixed NHS and private dental practice located in the village of Borrowash, just east of Derby. Led by principal dentist Anil Chand, the practice has steadily expanded since he took over in 2002.

Although some reporting functions aren’t yet used daily, Anil highlights how helpful they’ve been during audits and expects to use them more in the future.

The flexibility of Pearl has also supported future planning. With upcoming plans to move away from film-based X-rays to digital imaging, Anil is confident Pearl will integrate easily with their chosen tech. “Pearl’s compatibility with a wide variety of imaging solutions gives us the freedom to choose what’s best for us,” he explains.

User feedback has directly influenced product development. Initially, some staff found the navigation a little hierarchical — but thanks to Pearl’s “Wish List” process, those ideas were taken on board and reflected in future releases. Updates have included improved layouts and smart features like automatic paediatric options.

Support continues to be one of the biggest strengths of Pearl for Borrowash Dental Centre. “From my earliest dealings with Pearl, the support has been outstanding,” says Anil. Whether it's the software itself, network issues, or broader IT problems, the team is always on hand — offering remote support or guiding staff step-by-step.

The practice also uses Pearl’s Family and Friends Test feature — a tablet-based solution that gathers patient feedback and reports directly to the NHS. “It’s simple and stress-free for our reception team and patients, and the feedback is more honest and useful,” Anil adds.
