Dr Prakash Promod is a dual qualified practitioner, holding degrees in both medicine and dentistry – a distinction held by only a few professionals in the UK and internationally. In 2023, he opened his private practice, offering a comprehensive range of services from general dentistry to complex full-mouth rehabilitation. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, Prakash believes the patient experience begins not in the chair, but at the very first point of contact with the reception team and continues long after treatment ends. To uphold this standard, it was critical for him to implement a PMS that aligned with his meticulous expectations and supported a seamless, patient-centred journey from start to finish.
His colleague, a Specialist Orthodontist, had used Pearl at another practice and had been impressed with its ease of use and support, so it was a natural step for Prakash to consider Pearl as well.
Initially, Prakash was impressed with the software’s intuitive design, which made it easy to use and enabled the dentists in his practice to more easily do their treatment planning. The transformation of the practice has been considerable, from a new start-up in March 2023 to a multi-disciplinary three surgery practice with room to expand further. The practice was awarded Best Implant Dentistry Practice in the UK at the 2024 Clinical Dentistry Awards, earning the respect of the local and national dental communities.
The PMS has been very useful for accessing patient records and one of the biggest improvements has been the launch of online booking, which has been enabled patients to book an appointment or consultation 24-hours-a-day rather than being limited to practice opening hours.
