From paper-based practice to slick Pearl practice
Background
Prasanta (Pras) Banerjee bought Queensway Dental Practice, a family practice in Milton Keynes, in 2011. It was a predominantly NHS-based clinic and paper-based, with no real systems in place and little technology used.
Having reviewed the potential for the business, Pras was keen to move towards a more digitally focused practice and eventually paper-free with robust practice management systems and processes in place. He was also planning to introduce more private dental treatments, offering a wider choice for Milton Keynes’ local community.
After assessing PMS options, it was important for Pras to select the best ‘fit’ for his practice. He chose Pearl at the start of his career and has never thought of moving away.

The Pearl PMS helped Pras revolutionise his practice and he been particularly delighted how it has been refined over the years. Digital storage has saved so much space in the practice.
The team at Queensway have found the system extremely user-friendly and a good example of this is in accessing key reports such as incomplete treatment plans so that they can be followed up; an important internal marketing strategy for increasing practice income.
For extra convenience patients have become familiar with using the PearlPad – an intuitive tablet designed to guide them through their medical histories, consent forms, and other essential documents, and all from the comfort of the patient lounge. Patients simply complete the forms on a tablet provided by the reception team, and once submitted, their information is instantly and securely uploaded to their digital record in Pearl. With no need to print, scan and file the forms, the PearlPad saves the ‘front-of-house’ team time and saves the practice money.
