BHA announces new ‘Pearl Ortho’

Pearl Dental Software system further extended to support independent orthodontists

BHA Software today announced the latest extension to its Pearl Dental Software practice management system. Pearl Ortho adds the specialist features needed to manage both private and NHS orthodontic work within the Pearl system. This further enhances the reputation of Pearl Dental Software for delivering the most complete patient journey support currently available from any software system in the UK.

Pearl Ortho is a no-cost add-on to Pearl Dental Software, installed remotely as an update. It is also included (for free) in all new installations and can be activated at initial set-up or remotely at a later date upon request.

The new module features specific orthodontic examination and notes facilities, and orthodontic charting. It also links all orthodontic notes to the main patient records and handles all necessary back-end NHS reporting, such as UOA targeting.

Pearl Dental Software now offers independent dentists and small chains even more features than they enjoyed in previous, long-established versions of Pearl. It also has an enhanced user interface and support for cloud computing. This gives practices greater operational flexibility, simpler set-up and improved patient record and data management.

“The Pearl Ortho is part of an ongoing process to maintain Pearl as the most comprehensive practice management system available in the UK,” says Ben Baker, MD of BHA. “However, we’re also keen to keep the workflow simple and aligned to the patient journey and to continue providing our software and excellent support at a very cost-effective price point. Pearl makes sense to everybody in the practice, including the accountant.”

BHA’s investment in Pearl also extends to a new office facility, expanded customer and marketing communications, and a partnership programme. The first fruit of the partnership programme was the recent integration of the Spacemark-D system for periodontal care and interdental treatment charting.

Mr Baker concludes; “Pearl has become one of the UK’s most popular practice management software systems. Unlike some imported systems, we are focused on the needs of the independent dentists within the NHS and UK private systems. Now we also offer them the tools they need to support their business as it grows into a multi-practice chain providing specialities such as orthodontic treatments and periodontal care regimes.”

Time-table for Pearl Ortho product roll-out

The orthodontic features for Pearl Dental Software are available immediately to all new Pearl customers and can be activated upon request for existing Pearl Dental Software customers.

New user and Upgrade costs

• Upgrade to Pearl Dental Software is free for existing Pearl systems users*. However, there is a one-off charge of £375 (plus VAT) for user training and set-up support.
• Activation of Pearl Ortho is free for all Pearl Dental Software customers, requiring only a request to the support team: email – info@bhasoftware.com, or call 0116 275 9995.

• One-off installation and training for new users from £575.00 (plus VAT).

*For current online backup users. For those not using backup, there is an additional charge.
