As of 5th April 2025, the NHS Tax Credit Exemption will officially ended. This means that patients who previously qualified for free NHS dental treatment under this exemption will now need to reapply for a different exemption if they are still eligible.
In Pearl, patients who were previously covered by the Tax Credit Exemption will now automatically default to No Exemption. This ensures that any new NHS claims correctly reflect their updated exemption status.
People receiving tax credits are being moved to Universal Credit. When your tax credits have stopped and you’re moved to Universal Credit, you must meet the Universal Credit conditions to be entitled to full help with health costs.
To avoid any issues with incorrect charges or claim rejections, patients must provide a valid alternative exemption or be informed that they will need to pay for their treatment.
By staying on top of these changes, your practice can ensure smooth NHS claims processing and avoid unnecessary delays or rejections. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance.
