Merging a list of patients to a document such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel from a filter setting. You can also create a list of patients to send an email or SMS to if you wanted to contact a target group of patients (for example to inform them of changes to the practice or a promotional offer).
If you’ve already applied your filter, you’ve done the hard bit. Now you can put this filter to work! Whether this is recording the number of patients, having a list of the patient names internally, or working on a marketing/promotional campaign, Pearl Dental can make light work of a previously monotonous task.
You’ll notice several buttons located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This guide will explain what each of these do – working from left to right…
This will open a list of your current Word templates (link). To merge each patient in your filter to a letter, select the Merge option on the desired template. You must have Microsoft Word installed on your PC and have a valid patient documents path in order to use this feature.
This will open the ‘Send SMS’ (link) dialog. You can either select an existing template or type a new text message from scratch. You must have an SMS account with the necessary credits in order to use this feature.
This will open the ‘Send Email’ (link) dialog. You can either select an existing template or type a new email from scratch. You must have Microsoft Outlook installed and an email account configured in order to use this feature.
You will be asked to save your current filter as a CSV (Comma-separated values) file, which can be opened with Microsoft Excel, in a desired location (e.g. Desktop, Documents etc.).
This will produce a print preview of each patient in your filter with their name and address, ready for you to print and stick the labels onto patient cards.
This will produce a print preview of your filtered patient list, containing only basic information – Full Name, Status & Date of Birth.
This will produce a print preview of your filtered patient list, containing more detailed information than the Basic List – as above, plus Mobile, Home Phone, Email & Next Appointment.
